Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive on August 16 in South Carolina.

"This should be about Hayden, not old family battles," the source added. "Everyone needs to put their personal history aside and ask one question: What would Hayden have wanted?"

Hayden Panettiere released her memoir, 'This Is Me: A Reckoning,' in May.

Panettiere spoke at length in her May memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, about her turbulent relationship with her mom, 70, who managed her career through childhood. She admitted that she felt the momager pushed her too hard during her early years as a Hollywood starlet.

"I was so scared of her that approaching her and being honest about my feelings [back then] was not going to get me any positive reaction. This is my way of doing it," Panettiere said in an interview with Us Weekly while promoting the book.

The Heroes actress confessed she no longer had a relationship with her mother, "But that doesn’t mean that I don’t leave the door open for the opportunity to present itself one day. It’s hard for me to say, but I’ve chosen to be brutally honest.

Lesley Vogel claimed she took the advice of professionals and chose to go 'no-contact' with her daughter.

Vogel clapped back at her daughter's claims, claiming the drama was an attempt to "sell books."

"There is a personality ‘style’ which manifests as a need for control, entitlement and a lack of empathy. The major fear is that someone will see through the mask they present to the world and discover who they truthfully are," she told Page Six.

She continued, "After 20 years of trauma, I took the advice of professionals and chose the no-contact route. As many parents of entertainment children [know], we are all too familiar with the painful observation of watching the self-destructive paths they sometimes choose. No parent hopes for this scenario; we want our children to be the best of themselves and live a peaceful, joyful life!"
