Hayden Panettiere and Brian Hickerson dated on and off from 2018 until her death.

Her team also urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation. “If you have legitimate information that could be helpful, please contact law enforcement rather than turning to social media to speculate publicly about something you do not fully understand," the statement noted.

"There is much more to this story than what is currently being discussed publicly, and those closest to Hayden are actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation to help ensure that the truth comes to light and that justice is properly served," they concluded.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the Greenville City Police Department previously noted in the Nashville star's autopsy report that there were "no signs of trauma" that contributed to her death.

Panettiere’s cause of death has yet to be revealed, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) also recently joined the investigation.

A bottle of Narcan was reportedly found in the home where Panettiere was discovered dead, with her on-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach, also present with her when she passed.

Lesley Vogel claimed Hayden Panettiere and Brian Hickerson's relationship was very 'powerful.'

Brian and the Ice Princess alum dated sporadically from 2018 until 2026, with the South Carolina native being arrested several times over the years on charges such as domestic violence and felony assault.

Panettiere’s estranged mother, Lesley Vogel, previously criticized Brian and his rocky relationship with her daughter, calling him a "loser" and a "modern-day gigolo."

"[Their bond] was much more powerful than people realized," Vogel told Daily Mail in an interview published on August 22. "When Brian came into her life, the changes started to occur."

The talent manager, 70, also claimed the couple's romance intensified when drugs came into the picture. "I would talk to both of them about it," she recalled. "I would say, 'This is a codependent relationship, and it is not healthy for either of you.'"

"My sadness is that everything that I did, her father [Skip] did, friends did, business people did — we could not break that codependent bond. It is so much more powerful than people understand," she added.
