Daddy's boy! Jaden Smith seems to be cheering on dad Will Smith for defending his mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 27.
After the I Am Legend star, 53, gave Chris Rock a slap across the face for making fun of his wife's shaved head, Jaden took to social media to praise his dad.
"And That's How We Do It," the 23-year-old wrote via Twitter hours after the incident, seemingly giving the A-list actor his stamp of approval for getting physical with Rock. Meanwhile, Jaden also may have been referring to the star's Best Actor award win for his King Richard performance.
As OK! reported, the comedian was presenting an award at the Sunday show when he cracked a joke about wanting to see Jada in G.I. Jane 2 as a diss at her shaved head.
But the joke didn't land with Jada, who suffers hair loss as a result of her battle with an autoimmune disorder called alopecia.
After seeing his wife roll her eyes over the offensive joke, Will decided to take things into his own hands and stormed on the stage to give Rock a smack.
Will's daughter, Willow, 21 — who was also in attendance for the show on Sunday — has yet to comment on her dad's smackdown with Rock, but the actor has already started to receive backlash for acting out.
While Jaden didn't seem to have a problem with his dad's actions, the same can't be said for others in the industry, including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which released a statement denouncing violence following the ordeal.
"The Academy does not condone violence of any form," the Twitter statement read. "Tonight we are delighted to celebrate out 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world."
Many have even started to wonder if Will could be stripped of his Best Actor victory as a result of the violent outburst.
"It's basically assault. Everyone was just so shocked in the room it was so uncomfortable," an insider revealed, as OK! reported. "I think Will would not want to give his Oscar back, but who knows what will happen now."
