So Long, Sweats! Jennifer Lopez Celebrates President Joe Biden's Inauguration In Style — See Her Best Looks
Herstory! Jennifer Lopez proved why she is a fashion icon as she celebrated the historic inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer posted a photo of herself standing outside the Capitol on Wednesday morning before she was set to perform. The 51-year-old looked stunning in a black-and-white houndstooth coat and matching pants set from Chanel’s fall 2019 collection. She paired the chic look with a white ruffled button-up shirt accented with pearl earrings.
The superstar also paused to snap a selfie with members of the National Guard who were there to protect the incoming administration after the violent riots that rocked D.C. on January 6.
“What an honor to spend a few moments with these brave men and women,” she wrote. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I honor you today and everyday.❤️🤍💙 #inauguration2021.”

Before descending upon Washington, D.C., to take part in history as Harris was sworn-in as the first female vice president, the singer posed in front of a private jet wearing luxurious onboard attire in true Lopez fashion.
She donned pieces from Alberta Ferretti’s fall/winter 2020 collection. Lopez was all business in a slate-grey overcoat, mohair sweater and slouchy wool trousers. Although the “Let’s Get Loud” singer is known for her glitzy gowns and plunging necklines, she gravitated towards a more appropriate outfit to mingle with the political elite.
Of course she accessorized her business casual attire with a trio of statement pieces. She wore a gold-studded belt, a chocolate colored mini purse and a python print fedora.
Earlier this week, Lopez’s fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, revealed that the singer was actually “nervous” about performing at the inauguration as she felt a heightened sense of “responsibility” regarding the event.
“It’s been a crazy year for her, so amazing, so many blessings. But to think in a span of 12 months, she’s done the Super Bowl, New Years [Eve] and now the inaugural, it’s unbelievable,” he said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday.
