'We Miss You': John Travolta Pays Tribute To Late Wife Kelly Preston On First Mother's Day Without Her
It was a somber Sunday for John Travolta, who took to Instagram to pay tribute to his late wife, Kelly Preston, on the family’s first Mother’s Day without her.
Preston died on July 12, 2020, after her two-year battle with breast cancer. She was 57.
"Dearest Kelly, you brought into my life three of the most wonderful children I have ever known," the 67-year-old wrote on Sunday, May 9. "Thank you. We love and miss you. Happy Mother's Day."
The couple's 21-year-old daughter, Ella, also honored the late actress over the weekend. “Mama, thank you for all you have done for us and for this world. I miss you and love you very much, but your smile, warmth and love is ever lasting. Wishing all of the moms a happy Mother’s Day❤️," she wrote in a touching tribute.
The Pulp Fiction actor posted two family photos, including one with their children Benjamin and Ella snuggled in their bed when Benjamin, now 10, was a newborn. The second photo is of Travolta, Preston and their son Jett, who died in 2009 at 16 after suffering a seizure.

The Grease actor shared a sweet picture of his late son for his birthday earlier this month, writing: “Happy birthday my beautiful Jetty. I love you.”
In April, Travolta sat down with Esquire Spain and reminisced on his wife of 28 years. "I learned that mourning someone, dealing with grief is something very personal," Travolta told the publication. "Mourning is individual and experiencing your own journey is what can lead you to heal. Your grief is different from another person's journey."
"The most important thing you can do to help another person when they are in mourning is allow them to live through it and not complicate it with yours," he shared. "Even though it's great to have company, sometimes it turns into you helping them instead of you working on your loss and grief."
When the A-list actor told the world of his wife’s passing he reflected on her “courageous fight with the love and support of so many,” he penned, adding: “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered.”
