June 'Mama June' Shannon Thinks Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson's 20-Year-Old Boyfriend Dralin Carswell Is A 'Good Guy'
June "Mama June" Shannon has given Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's boyfriend her seal of approval.
Fans were concerned when the 16-year-old went Instagram official with her boyfriend, 20-year-old Dralin Carswell, in September.
"They've been together almost a year, and they talked a little bit before that," Shannon told E! News' Daily Pop. "But um, I mean, he is respectful. He treats her good. He kind of helps out, you know, with the family whenever needed to be. I don't have a problem with him."
"Who knows what the future holds with him, too? Because nobody ever knows," the Mama June: From Not to Hot star added. "But right now, I mean, he's really a good guy."
According to E! News, Shannon's older sister Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon also approves of the relationship.
While the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum deleted the original Instagram post confirming their relationship, their romance still seems to be going strong. The pair reportedly lives in Georgia, where the age of consent is 16.

"If you see me anywhere, you're most likely going to see my boyfriend," Shannon told E! News. "It's just me and my boyfriend, that's all it is."
"And I don't have friends because I just feel like nowadays people are way too fake and...just want to be all up in your business and just know what's the next best thing happening with you, just so they can build you up and then put you down," the teen continued. "Because for me, I feel like...everybody wants to see me fail. So I'm obviously going to show everybody that I'm not gonna fail and that I'm very successful."
Shannon told the publication that she wants to go to college after she finishes school because she plans on becoming a neonatal nurse. "So right now I'm just trying to work on my schooling and, like, my future and stuff," she explained.
Shannon admitted that she finds it hard to distance herself from the Honey Boo Boo character because everyone still thinks she is "that little six-year-old Alana." "And I just feel like for me, I don't care what people think. I don't care. They think I'm a six-year-old or if they think I'm that 16-year-old, I don't really care. I'm gonna do me regardless," she told the outlet.
