Justin Bieber & Wife Hailey Baldwin Hounded With 'Selena' Chants As Duo Made Their Way Into Met Gala
Selena Gomez may not have been at the 2021 Met gala, but her presence was definitely felt.
Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber and wife Hailey Baldwin did make their Met gala debut as a couple together and fans of the “Who Says” singer did not let them enjoy their time.
In a video released on YouTube, the power couple were hounded by chants of “Selena” as they exited their car and made their way into the Metropolitan Museum of Art for fashion’s biggest night.
Baldwin and Bieber seemingly ignored the loud screams for his ex and sauntered into the building.
Fans of the duo quickly came to their defense. “Look, I get that some people enjoyed Selena And Justin together but it's EXTREMELY BEYOND disrespectful to yell ‘Selena’ while he's in front of his wife. Like wow you people are sick,” one user wrote, while another commented: “Mentioning another woman when his wife is right by his side. So immature.”
The 27-year-old “Yummy” crooner looked dapper in a sleek black tuxedo by La Maison Drew — an extension of his own fashion line Drew House. He accessorized his look with painted sneaks and Jacquie Aiche jewelry.
His model wife, 24, stunned in a black Saint Laurent gown with an embellished neckline, chic black sunnies and jewels from famed Tiffany & Co.
Gomez last appeared at the Met gala in 2018. She attended the major event a year prior with her then-boyfriend, Canadian singer The Weeknd.
The “Love You Like a Love Song” singer dated Baldwin’s hubby on and off for eight years, until the former flames called it quits for good in 2018.
The “Peaches” singer and Baldwin first met at a meet-and-greet in 2009 before they began dating several years later. The lovebirds got engaged in July 2018 while vacationing in the Bahamas — and tied the knot six months after his split from Gomez during a quiet courthouse ceremony in September 2018.
A year later, they had a formal wedding ceremony in front of loved ones in South Carolina.
