Kim Kardashian & Irina Shayk Both Attend Met Gala Following Model's Brief Fling With Kanye West
Awkward! Kanye West's exes Kim Kardashian and Irina Shayk had a near run-in at the Met Gala on Monday, September 13.
The reality star walked the red carpet moments after the model did. However, it doesn't seem like they came face to face.
The 40-year-old made an unexpected fashion choice when she opted to cover her face and body entirely in an all-black Balenciaga outfit — reportedly designed by West — made up of a cape, boots and gloves.
Kardashian was accompanied by a masked man in a similar outfit – but despite speculation on social media, it was not her estranged husband by her side. According to Vogue, the brunette beauty was joined by creative director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia.
Meanwhile, Shayk's look was the complete opposite. The 35-year-old looked radiant in a nude Moschino gown with a long slit to reveal her toned legs and a train dotted with flowers.
Kardashian filed for divorce in February. Shayk and West were first spotted together in France celebrating the "All Of The Lights" hitmaker's 44th birthday in June.
Last month, an insider told PEOPLE that the new couple had called it quits. "It was never a serious thing that took off," the source said.

"Kanye has been busy working and spending time with his kids. This is his focus," the source explained. "He doesn't have time to date right now. He finds Irina amazing though."
Another insider told the publication that the duo are still friends.
Since calling it off, the SKIMS founder has still shown her support for her estranged husband. Kardashian attended several listening parties for his new alum Donda. At the third listening event on August 26, the co-parents recreated their wedding with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum wearing a Balenciaga wedding dress.
West "was dead set on Kim playing a big role in his album release, and it didn’t take much persuading to get her on board," an OK! insider spilled.
"It’s not just because he sees her as his muse," the source added. "It’s obvious he’s trying to get Kim to [reconcile]."
According to the insider, Kardashian is "torn" about the divorce because she doesn't want to break up the family.
Kardashian and West tied the knot in 2014 and share children North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. Shayk shares daughter Lea De Seine, 3, with Bradley Cooper.
