Kelly Clarkson Bid Farewell to Her Show After 7 Years

Kelly Clarkson bid her show farewell after seven years, calling the moment 'bittersweet.'
She called the moment “bittersweet.”
The finale featured a lengthy “Kelly By Request” where Clarkson, 44, performed covers and her latest single, “I’d Be Lyin'.”
She then chatted with her two children.
“They’re also a big reason it’s time to say goodbye,” Clarkson said, as shared on her Instagram. “I’m such a proud mama. They’re the greatest kiddos in the world.”
“When we started, River was in kindergarten,” the Grammy winner noted. “She’s now about to be in middle school, which is crazy. My son, Remington, he had his singing debut on stage with [a] Frank Sinatra [song, ‘My Way’].”

Kelly Clarkson invited her two kids, daughter River and son Remington, to the last episode of her show.
The little ones were also asked about their favorite moment from the show.
While Remington looked back on his performance, as well as his chat with Jason Momoa, River, for her part, told her mom, “I like watching you shine every single day.”
The comment brought Clarkson to tears, and she said, “You got me. You just Oprah’d me on my own show.”

Clarkson Thanked 'Everyone' Who Joined Her on the Show

Kelly Clarkson thanked everyone who joined her on her show all these years.
Bringing her two kids onstage for a hug, she said, “I want to thank everyone on our staff and crew, my band, the viewers, and every single guest who joined us on the show. For seven years, I’ve ended each episode by saying, ‘Have a great day. And if it’s not, change it.'”
Clarkson explained, “I say that because while we have to accept that life is totally out of our control, each moment truly depends on how we choose to respond and react to it. ‘You don’t have to attend the negative party you’ve been invited to,’ I’ve been told by a therapist.”

Kelly Clarkson chose to walk away from 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' to prioritize her children.
Clarkson also concluded by telling her viewers that she “loved being in [their] homes each day” and “loved seeing [her] kiddos grow up on this show.”
She said, “I have immeasurable gratitude for everyone here. Thank you so much. This has been an incredible opportunity.”
In February this year, she confirmed that she would soon be leaving the NBC show, writing, per Page Six, “[This] will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
