Kristen Stewart Reveals She & Robert Pattinson Were 'Young' & 'Stupid' During Their 'Twilight' Romance, But It Was 'What The Film Needed'
Oh how times have changed! More than a decade ago — one of Hollywood's biggest power couples was The Twilight Saga's Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
Now the actress, 31, has opened up about what it was like working on the blockbuster film series along with the English actor, 35, whom she dated for four years (despite a cheating scandal) until their 2013 split.
Stewart told the New Yorker that after she met Pattinson — she knew he was the only one to play vampire Edward Cullen. "It was so clear who worked," she told the outlet about The Batman star.
The BAFTA Award winner explained that Pattinson had an "intellectual approach" about the film "that was combined with ‘I don't give a f--k about this, but I'm going to make this sing.' And I was, like, ‘Ugh, same.'"
The former couple began dating shortly after the first film premiered in 2009. Both Pattinson and Stewart — who is now engaged to girlfriend Dylan Meyer — went on to star in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 together. The former child star stated that their relationship helped make the film the romantic film that it was.

"Whatever, we were young and stupid and, not to say that we made it [the film] so much better," Stewart said. "But that's what it needed, and that's what anybody playing those parts needed to feel."
The Panic Room star shot to superstardom when she starred as Bella Swan in the book-to-film series. But Stewart explained to the outlet that the role that made her a household name had some setbacks.
"Like, how fun for people to think they know you," the California native said. "Did you think I was going to do Twilight forever? Is that how you saw me?"
