Driver is playing Italian fashion aficionado Maurizio Gucci, while Gaga is set to portray Gucci’s ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani — who was tried and convicted of orchestrating his assassination in 1995.
Gaga herself shared a photo earlier this week of the onscreen couple on a snow-covered location shoot in Europe. She captioned the stunning snap “Signore e Signora Gucci,” which translates to “Mr. and Mrs. Gucci.”
Reggiani eventually served 18 years in prison for her role in her estranged ex's death before being released in 2016. Gucci and Reggiani had two children together, before he left her for another woman.
The movie, based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, will focus on what led up to Gucci’s murder. Alongside Driver and Gaga, Jeremy Irons will play Rodolfo Gucci, Maurizio’s father, while Jared Leto and Al Pacino are also on board to star in the film. The film is slated to premiere in November 2021.
