Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Are Quietly Looking For A New Film Project To Star In Together
Take three! Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are looking to mix business with pleasure once again.
The Hustlers star and the Way Back actor, 48, have spent the last week celebrating Lopez’s 52nd birthday enjoying the high seas and gallivanting across St. Tropez and Capri, Italy.
Now, a source tells OK! exclusively that the pair — who previously costarred in 2003’s critically-panned Gigli and 2004’s Jersey Girl — have spent most of their romantic getaway reading scripts in the hopes of finding a new film project to star in together.
“You would think they would have learned their lesson after Gigli but they haven’t,” the source tells OK!. “They think they are our generations’ Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton — and they want to have their Cleopatra moment together.”

In July, Lopez inked a deal to develop original content based on the Concord catalog of musicals, which includes Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals. The source points out that the singer's deal could be the stepping stone for the couple to work together: “Ben Affleck singing and dancing next to J.Lo on the silver screen — who wouldn’t want to see these two in The King and I, where Jennifer is the King?”
As OK! previously reported, Lopez and Affleck have had no shortage of offers to get back onscreen together. The lovebirds have “received a ton of scripts to star together in rom-coms and other flicks, and they’re actually considering it," a source told OK! last month. "The idea of working together on a movie sounds very intriguing.”
In fact, according to the insider, one script in particular has already caught Lopez's interest — a film “about a couple who reunite years after they screwed it up the first time.” Adds the source, “It sounds familiar, and that’s why she feels it would be fun to do.”
Meanwhile, Lopez and Affleck's vacay hasn't been all ocean views and sunrays: She narrowly avoided an awkward run-in with ex-fiancée Alex Rodriguez in St. Tropez last week. The former Fly Girl visited a local store in the coastal town mere hours after the athlete, 46, and his current flame Melanie Collins were doing some shopping of their own.
