Singer Lizzo said the ‘truth has prevailed’ after a harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed against her was dismissed.

Lizzo declared the "truth has prevailed" after a discrimination and harassment lawsuit filed by a former tour wardrobe designer was dismissed.
"Today I am relieved to announce that I have won the case against me and my touring company Big Grrrl Touring," Lizzo, 38, said in an Instagram Reel shared on Tuesday, September 1. "All the ridiculous claims by a wardrobe assistant who worked on tour for less than three weeks, including a claim they broke an acrylic nail, have been dismissed."
Lizzo spoke about the dismissed lawsuit on social media.
'Truth Has Prevailed'
Lizzo addressed her fans in a video posted on September 1.
In the clip, Lizzo dressed casually in a black long sleeve shirt and yoga pants, wearing her hair in a slicked back bun as she stood on a sunny balcony.
"It was all so shocking because I was being sued by someone who admittedly never met me," she continued. "I prayed for the truth to come out and thanks to my incredible lawyers, the truth has prevailed."
Lizzo Was Adamant on Not 'Settling' the Case
Lizzo was sued by a former wardrobe designer in September 2023.
The "Truth Hurts" singer said the truth mattered to her more "than anything," adding, "I told y'all, I will not settle and will continue to fight every vicious claim that has been made against me and my businesses."
"I am grateful to God and my team for another victory," she concluded. "I will continue to use my platform to spread positivity and light to the world."

Lizzo Was Sued in September 2023
Asha Daniels claimed she was subjected to 'racist and fat phobic comments' while on Lizzo's 2023 European tour.
The "Juice" singer was sued in September 2023 by Asha Daniels, a former wardrobe designer who worked on her European tour that same year. Lizzo's tour company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., wardrobe manager Amanda Nomura and tour manager Carlina Gugliotta were also named in the lawsuit.
Daniels claimed the work environment on the tour subjected her to "racist and fatphobic comments," sexual harassment and disability discrimination, according to documents obtained by OK!. She also alleged she was physically hurt after a "heavy clothing rack" was rolled over her foot.
Lizzo Cannot Be Sued Again by Asha Daniels
The judge ruled that Asha Daniels could not sue Lizzo again, though the tour company remains a defendant.
U.S. District Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha dismissed all seven causes of action against Lizzo in the latest filing, claiming Daniels had no standing to sue the singer as an individual after identifying her touring and payroll companies as her employers.
The judge ruled that Daniels cannot try to sue the star again, though her tour company remains a defendant.
"Lizzo’s company was not dismissed," Daniels’ lawyer Ron Zambrano told Rolling Stone in a statement on Tuesday, September 1. "The lawsuit still exists as to Lizzo’s companies … Lizzo and her tour manager will still be deposed in this matter."
