The Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, who spent several years of her childhood being filmed for the hit TLC show, posted a TikTok about her less-than-normal upbringing, alluding to her time on the show as a young kid.
The TikTok video, which she posted on July 20, used the audio from Olivia Rodrigo’s track, “enough for u,” with the lyrics, “maybe I’m just not as interesting as the girls you had before,” playing in the background.
The video shows Mady curled up in bed with her eyes closed, with text across the screen that read, “How I sleep knowing that I can’t relate to this lyric because I had an extremely unconventional childhood AND I have ADHD.”
She also wrote “a little TOO interesting” in the caption, which seemed to be a quip at the 20-year-old’s strange experience growing up with a famous family with their own reality show.
She also revealed her ADHD diagnosis, which fans were curious about. One user commented, “When were you diagnosed with ADHD? Or is this a self-diagnosis.”
Mady responded, “Not a self diagnosis :) I was diagnosed as a kid.”
Mady, who was only six years old at the time the show began, is a twin to sister Cara, and older sister to sextuplet siblings, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Colin, Leah, and Joel.
The kids’ parents, Jon and Kate, called things off in 2009 after 20 years together, and ended the show before embarking on a custody and divorce battle. Kate continued the show, with an edited name, Kate Plus 8 after the split.
Mady’s TikTok isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Gosselin comment on their unconventional family life. In 2019, Kate posted an Instagram of the twins, referencing the “tough” times they’ve gone through.
“I love these kids fiercely...and I don’t apologize for my tears. Times have been so tough and so needlessly unfair for them. Despite it all, they’ve turned out to be such wonderful amazing human beings,” she wrote in the caption at the time.
“I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for each of them once they get away from those who have tried to destroy them versus protect them!”
Kate has been fairly quiet on Instagram since then, with her last post being from July 2020.
Four of the eight kids reportedly live in North Carolina with their mom, including Mady and Cara who both attend college. Collin and Hannah both live in Pennsylvania with Jon.
It is unclear what the relationships between the children and their parents are like, but it seems as though Mady’s TikTok is the best way to get the insider tea on the famous family.
