BABIES'It Was Settled Very Early On': Mandy Moore Shares The Sweet Reason She Named Her Son August
After Mandy Moore announced on Tuesday, February 23, that she gave birth to her and husband Taylor Goldsmith’s first baby, she’s sharing more about why they named their little boy August.
"It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it's also Taylor's birth month) and we always loved the name..." the This Is Us star shared on Instagram on Wednesday, February. 24. "So it was settled very early on in our book.
"Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the 'A' (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and 'T' (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt. Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day," Moore explained and showed a picture of the blanket which now spells out August, with her son napping underneath a blanket in the corner.
"Me when I finally realized who she was talking about when she said Amanda 🤯🤯🤯🤯," one fan commented.
"I was today years old when I found out your name is Amanda lol," another joked.
"What a sweet meaning ❤️ big big congratulations!!!" a third fan wrote.
"Gus is here," the 36-year-old gushed earlier in the day with a photo of the baby in a blue onesie. "Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T."
The couple announced that they were expecting in September with a black-and-white pic of the Dawes frontman cradling her baby bump.
Moore previously shared how her This Is Us role affected her feelings on motherhood in 2017.
"I was most concerned about feeling maternal, not having children myself. But being part of a project like this definitely makes my ovaries start kicking," she told E! News at the time, adding that she wanted kids sooner rather than later.
Moore and Goldsmith tied the knot in 2018 after they began dating in 2016.
Another August was born this month; Princess Eugenie announced that she named her son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank days before Moore did.
