Maralee Nichols announced her son, whom she shares with Tristan Thompson, is named Theo Thompson.
Fans had previously been under the impression the tot was named Angelou Kash Thompson. According to TMZ, an Instagram account that previously announced the baby was named Angelou was fake.
Nichols posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday, February 23, of herself holding the baby. The mother and son donned matching white outfits in the photo as Nichols hid her baby's face from the camera.
"Theo, my little angel baby," she captioned the post. "I named you Theo because it means, 'Gift from God.'"
She explained she was previously told she may never be able to have children. "I couldn’t believe I was pregnant, when I saw you on the ultrasound and heard your little heartbeat I knew I would always protect you and keep you safe," she gushed. "I love you more than you’ll ever know. You bring such joy and happiness into my life. My greatest blessing 🤍"
According to People, the Sacramento Kings player is not listed on his new son's birth certificate. The fitness model told the publication it was because he was not present when she gave birth. Nichols welcomed the baby on Wednesday, December 1, in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 30-year-old initially questioned the paternity of the baby after news of his alleged third child made headlines in December. He confirmed last month he was in fact the child's father in a public statement, where he maintained he was looking forward to amicably raising his son with Nichols.
Earlier this month, Nichols' rep claimed Thompson has done nothing to support their son nor has he made any attempt to meet him.
The NBA player also publicly apologized to Khloé Kardashian and said she does not deserve what he has put her through. Thompson and Nichols hooked up in March 2021 during his birthday celebrations. He was believed to have still been dating the Good American cofounder at the time.
The baller shares shares daughter True, 4, with Kardashian and 5-year-old son Prince with Jordan Craig. Though the KUWTK reality star has not yet publicly commented on her baby daddy's most recent scandal, she hasn't shied away from throwing shade at her ex. Most recently, Kardashian appeared to take a dig at Thompson when she took to her Instagram to post sexy snaps of herself with the caption: "Betrayal rarely comes from your enemies."
