Shirtless... And Stout! Mark Wahlberg Shocks Fans With 20-Pound Weight Gain: See The Transformation
We never thought we'd see the day...! Fitness junkie Mark Wahlberg showed off a new look as he preps for an upcoming movie role, and let's just say our jaws are on the floor.
The 49-year-old revealed that he gained 20 pounds in three weeks and showed fans the drastic before-and-after shots.
"Kenny’s down 50 and I’m up about 20 😂 Inspired to be better! I’m going up another 20. Yes it’s for a role," he captioned another post, which was from the gym.
"And it looks just as hot in person baby," his wife Rhea Wahlberg commented.
"I think you look just as good on the left as you do on the right," Dr Oz said, while Mario Lopez added: "Yo. You wear mad chubby well homie!"

The weight gain is in preparation for Wahlberg's role as a boxer-turned-priest in the biopic Father Stu. "After we do the boxing scenes, I get to put on as much weight as possible over the course of the film, so I'm challenging myself to put on 30 pounds in the next six weeks," the Ted star explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live last month.
"They want me to do it as healthy as possible, and I'm like, 'Dude, I've been on such a regimen for so long, I just want to eat everything in sight,'" he said. "I want to go to bakeries. I want to go to Denny's. I want to get pancakes. I want to get everything that I can possibly get my hands on."
Wahlberg described his role as a former fighter who moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting but had an accident that gave him an out-of-body experience and prompted him to become a priest.
This has been a tough couple of weeks for Wahlberg after his mother, Alma, passed away last month at age 78. "My angel. Rest in peace," he captioned a photo of his late mother on social media on Sunday, April 18.
While her cause of death was not released, Alma was suffering from dementia for some time.
