Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took a trip to Victoria, Canada, on Friday, August 7, to attend friend David Foster's charity event, but in a viral online video, the composer, 76, appeared to brush past and ignore the Duke and Duchess of Sussex while they were on the red carpet.
A social media clip showed the awkward interaction between Meghan Markle and David Foster.
Meghan, 45, and Harry, 41, were spotted at the swanky bash smiling at Foster as he walked past them.
The Suits star held out her hand to greet the singer, however, he appeared to snub her.
Viewers Believed There Was 'Tension' on the Red Carpet
Meghan Markle extended her hand out to greet David Foster on the red carpet.
The social media clip saw Foster not showing any acknowledgement toward the Sussexes as he strolled by.
Online users scoffed at the awkward moment, with one user saying on X: "Tensions on the red carpet! Meghan Markle publicly snubbed by host David Foster. Watch as he refuses to greet her and ignores her reaching hand. Ouch!"
Another person chimed in: "This was soooo obvious. Foster made it a point not to make eye contact with either one of them. He just walked past them with a sour look on his face. That scene should be showed in slow motion."

David Foster seemed to ignore the Sussexes as he walked past them.
"She needs to learn to stop flapping her hands around trying to direct people, and keep her paws to herself. She has no grace whatsoever and always looks awkward. I'm sure she gives people the ick," someone else rolled their eyes.
"Acting like she’s in charge. It’s literally for him and they act like they are the stars of the show," someone else laughed.
Meghan Markle Shared Behind-the-Scenes Snaps From the Swanky Event
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were flanked by bagpipe players as they made their way into the gala.
Minutes after the red carpet moment, Foster and his wife, Katharine McPhee, paused to take photos with the As Ever founder and the Spare author.
Meghan also posted a selfie on her Instagram account at the event alongside Harry, showing the two dressed to the nines in their matching black gown and tuxedo.
In another post, the former actress shared a clip of the couple walking through a hallway of plaid-clad bagpipe players as they made their way into the ballroom for the charity gala.
David Foster and the Sussexes Have Been Pals for Years
Meghan Markle shared a sweet photo of herself with Prince Harry during the bash.
"Oh my god, this is amazing!" Meghan gushed as Harry trailed behind her. "My husband loves bagpipes!"
"Where are mine?" Harry joked, before insisting he was able to play both "pipes and drums."
Foster and McPhee, 42, have been friends with Meghan and Harry for years. In 2019, the music producer arranged for the duo to stay at a residence on Vancouver Island owned by an anonymous close pal.
“I felt honored that I was able to help Meghan there because I’m a Canadian, and we’re a Commonwealth country; we’re the Crown’s. It’s important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment,” Foster told Daily Mail in 2020. “I was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off.”
