Meghan McCain Is The Butt Of Every Joke On Twitter, Haters Thrilled With Her Exit From 'The View' — 'I'm So Upset, Said Nobody'
Meghan McCain officially announced her departure from The View on Thursday, July 1, and Twitter is having a field day with the news.
McCain, 36, is the only conservative on the popular daytime show, and she is well-known for her bold opinions and heated arguments with her fellow cohosts. When the news broke that the big personality would be leaving the show, some Twitter users quickly got busy making memes, and many are letting the outspoken co-host know she won’t be missed.
One user tweeted, “Meghan McCain is leaving ‘The View.’ I’m so upset,’ said nobody.”
Bishop Talbert Swan posted quite the sarcastic tweet, writing, “BREAKING NEWS: Live footage captured of nationwide celebrations after Meghan McCain announced she was leaving The View,” which he followed up with a montage of videos of people around the globe dancing in celebration.
Writer Paul Rudnick posted a tweet comparing McCain to a children’s doll. “Today Meghan McCain revealed that she’s leaving The View, because she was offered the lead in the Precious Moments movie,” he quipped.
Musical artist Ricky Davila had some choice words to say about the conservative host. “The last thing I’ll say about Meghan McCain is that she will forevermore be known as one of the most repugnant propagandists and disrespectful vile veins in the history of television commentary. She can now work for her equally repugnant husband who owns The Federalist. Bye bye.”
Many of the tweets are also poking fun at who might replace McCain on the show. Carey O’Donnell cheekily tweeted, “Meghan McCain’s replacement on The View should be the Grim Reaper, complete with the scythe.”

Writer Bryan Behar tweeted, “The Trump Organization has just been charged with tax crimes that will cripple the company for good. And yet, I’m way more excited to hear that Meghan McCain is leaving The View.”
Some of the jokes online were more lighthearted. One user tweeted, “In honor of Meghan McCain leaving The View here’s my favorite picture of her time on the show. The morning after Democrats won control of the Senate,” which he followed up with a picture of all the hosts smiling but McCain.
McCain herself even found humor in the quip, responding “LOLZ” to the post.
Others were more sentimental about the daughter of the late Senator John McCain’s departure.
StandWithUs, an educational organization dedicated to fighting antisemitism, tweeted at the talk show host, thanking her “for standing with the Jewish people.”
“Meghan brought rising antisemitism into sharp focus & was an ally to beleaguered Jews when many others chose to be bystanders. Thank you Meghan!”
McCain responded, writing, “I will never stop speaking out and fighting against antisemitism. Thank you for this.”
McCain is set to leave in late July, finishing out the show's 24th season. The new mom joined the show in 2017 and has been with The View for four seasons.
