Too close for comfort! It's only been two years since Miranda Lambert married ex-NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin, but she's already itching for some alone time, a pal tells OK!.
The singer, 37, who's headed to Texas in April for her first concert in over a year, has told McLoughlin, 29, "he shouldn't come because it will be all work and no play. But she really just wants to get away from him for a while," reports the friend.
After the pair's recent road trip together, "Miranda is desperate for some space," adds the pal, noting that the duo also spent much of 2020 cooped up in their Airstream trailer. "In fact, she's hoping she'll book some more gigs soon!"

The break could be healthy for the couple, given that their whirlwind romance was quickly followed by a global pandemic. The news that Lambert wed McLoughlin — just three months after she met him while he was on duty on the set of Good Morning America — came as quite the shock.
Lambert's courtship with the eight-years-younger ex-NYPD cop was quick, but they did seem to build something solid — considering the unlucky-in-love singer's past filled with fizzled relationships.
Lambert and McLoughlin have been extremely hot and heavy (maybe a bit too much!) ever since getting hitched. In fact, McLoughlin retired from the police force last year to be constantly by Lambert's side — even assuming roles as security detail and meet-and-greet monitor on her tours. "Brendan's friends joke that he quit his job to become a groupie," a separate source previously told OK!.

Late last year, just before the holidays, that same source told OK! that the country crooner is itching to start a family. "Miranda would love to have 10 kids with Brendan, but she'll settle for two or three," said the insider. "They're definitely planning on starting soon."
Better get that only time while you can, Miranda!
