When Nicole Kidman shared an update on Instagram about her Amazon drama series Expats, the comments section was divided: while a slew of fans gushed over the actress' hairstyle or expressed their excitement about the show β which is based on Janice Y.K. Kee's novel The Expatriates β some felt that the star, 54, may have gone under the knife recently.
"Subtly devious work apparently," one commenter wrote, while another quipped, "That's not even you Nicole! Bad double π."
"Nicole what did you do with your face?!?!?!!!?" questioned one Instagram user. "You are starting to get like a monster, it's sad cuz you were beautiful."
The photo in question showed the Australian star with very smooth skin, hanging out with one of the show's producers, Lulu Wang. "Back at work with the incomparable @ThumbeLulu π₯° #Expats," she captioned the pic.
Wang poked fun at the show's slow progress, reposting the photo and captioning it, "We're back at it!!! Coming soon. Eventually. One day ..." The series has technically been in the works since 2017, which was when it was first picked up by a studio.

Kidman has been accused of plastic surgery procedures before, but she's only admitted to getting Botox, which she eventually stopped since the fillers made her face look frozen.
"No surgery for me. I did try Botox, but I got out of it and now I can finally move my face again," she said in 2013, according to The Huffington Post.
Her fresh look could just stem from an updated skincare routine, as last summer, she partnered with Seratopical Revolution, a plant-based, alcohol-free, anti-aging beauty line.
"The products are incredibly high quality, but also affordable. The Harmony Face and Neck Toner is one of my personal favorites β itβs become part of my daily routine," she shared with Entertainment Tonight. "We've created these clean, natural plant-extract skincare products that really just feel good, and are incredibly hydrating. I hope people fall in love with Revolution the way I have."
