Prince Charles & Prince Harry Are Talking Again: 'The Channels Of Communication Are Open,' But It's Not 'All Roses,' Says Source
A royal reconciliation. While Prince Charles and Prince Harry have a long way to go in rebuilding their relationship, an insider alleged they have taken the first step: Talking to each other!
It's been almost eight months since the father-son duo have seen each other, with the last time being at Prince Philip's funeral in April. The somber occasion also marked the first time the Duke of Sussex returned to his homeland since he and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal lives and moved to California to start anew — a decision that can be credited to the apparent demise of his and his father's relationship.
“Charles was hugely hurt when Harry and Meghan just dumped it on the family they were giving up their roles and moving abroad,” a royal insider told Page Six of the couple's royal exit, dubbed Megxit. “I don’t think [Harry and Charles] talked for a good while, but now the channels of communication are open."
And while they may be on speaking terms, the source speculated they still have a long way to go. "I don’t think it’s all roses. It’s not like they are sitting down for a heart-to-heart on the phone once a week," the insider candidly pointed out, per the outlet.
As OK! reported, the 37-year-old revealed the heir to the throne "stopped taking my calls" during the lead up to the couple announcing they were stepping back from their senior royal duties last year. Harry made the shocking revelation during his and the Suits alum's bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.
At the time, the red-headed prince claimed Charles and his older brother Prince William "are trapped" in royal life and "don't get to leave," with Harry admitting he wouldn't have walked away from it all either if it wasn't for Meghan.

Harry also confessed he felt really let down by his father's response to the situation, pointing out: "There's a lot to work through there."
And it seems Charles and Harry aren't the only one affected by their apparent rift. The Prince of Wales — who has been spending time in Barbados as it becomes a republic with Duchess Camilla — has yet to meet his granddaughter Lilibet, born in July. (Harry and Meghan also share 2-year-old son Archie.)
Drama surrounding Charles and Harry's relationship was brought back to light last week after Christopher Andersen claimed in his Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan that it was the 73-year-old's passing remark to his wife, questioning what Harry and Meghan's "children's complexion might be," that triggered a rift.
A rep for Queen Elizabeth II's son has since called the alleged story "fiction."
