Five thousand miles away from the U.K. and all the pomp and circumstance of a royal holiday season, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be keeping things simple at home in Montecito, Calif.
"They want to nest and make some home-cooked meals," says an insider, noting that Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, will also likely entertain a few guests like Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland, and celeb pals Katharine McPhee and David Foster.
"They'll have some get-togethers with friends and colleagues who've been by their side through thick and thin this year," the source adds.
While Harry will be "sending messages and gifts" to a few loved ones in England, says the insider, there's no place he'd rather be than with Meghan and their two children, Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 6 months.
"They've done a ton of thoughtful shopping, and the toys, books and other treats from Santa are going to make the little ones very happy," dishes the insider.
"Though at the end of the day, all that matters to Harry is that they'll be together," concludes the source.

The royal rebels holiday plans come shortly after Harry's brother Prince William and wife Kate Middleton released their 2021 Christmas card. In keeping with tradition, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a new portrait of their family, including kids, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, on Friday, December 10.
"Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card🎄," the couple captioned the adorable snap via Instagram. Their followers immediately gushed over how sweet the pic was. "What a beautiful family photo. Thank you for sharing. It’s lovely to see the children," one user wrote, while another commented: Wonderful picture 😍😍the kids are growing soo fast ❤️❤️."
In the photo, Middleton, 39, stunned in a khaki dress as she sat next to her hunky hubby, who is sporting a matching polo. Princess Charlotte adorably donned a blue patterned dress, while George rocked a camouflage tee. Little Louis happily sat in front of his mom wearing a striped tee and shorts.
