The actress, 50, bolted from the reality show last September “because she was burned out by all the pettiness, name-calling and infighting,” dishes the insider.

The Wild Things star was said to be especially riled up by RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville’s claims that they’d hooked up in 2019, just a year after she tied the knot with Aaron Phypers. Glanville claimed that Richards had been “sexually aggressive” toward her, yet the mom-of-three adamantly denied the affair rumors.

The rumors caused such a stir that Richards was forced to defend herself during an interview with The Washington Post. “I did not have an affair,” she told the outlet in July 2020. “If I had an open marriage, I would be open about it."

However, Richards — who was reportedly halfway through her four-year, $4 million contract (the highest salary of any cast member in the franchise!) when she ditched the show — “realizes that was a mistake, because it was a lot of easy money,” the insider explains.

“Word is she wants to return to the series," says the insider, "but it’s hard to imagine the producers would welcome her back.”
