Renée Zellweger Feels Boyfriend Ant Anstead Was 'Sent To Her' By Late Pal

Renée Zellweger feels she has an angel to thank for Ant Anstead coming into her life.

The Judy star, 52, who has been dating the Wheeler Dealers host, 43, since June of last year, feels her late friend and publicist Nanci Ryder played a part in her meeting and falling in love with her beau.

According to the print issue of Star Magazine, Zellweger was left reeling from the loss of her close friend after Ryder lost her battle with ALS in 2020, and the Jerry McGuire star reached out to HGTV to arrange a special renovation for the nurses who cared for her pal. This then led her to Celebrity IOU: Joyride — hosted by none other than the British television star himself.

"Someone was throwing some sparkle dust over them," the insider told the outlet of how the couple got together. "Renée never thought she'd find love again, but then she found Ant and it really saved her life. He's opened another world for Renée."

Zellweger and Anstead — who shares 2-year-old son Hudson with ex-wife Christina Haack — have been attached at the hip since getting together last summer.

"She and Ant love doing simple things," the insider noted, adding the head over heels duo spend lots of time at the motor specialists' Laguna Beach mansion going for bike rides with the dogs and spending quality time with Anstead's little boy. "Renée's very happy and is always saying she has Nanci to thank for that."

Despite the Oscar winner being over the moon about their romance, Anstead may be having some reservations about taking their relationship to the next level. The duo “were talking about getting hitched all the way through the holidays, but now when the subject comes up, he squashes it,” a source exclusively told OK!.

“He loves Renée, but all his old fears and insecurities are coming back,” the insider shared of the designer who only split with his Flip Or Flop ex last year. “And it’s dawned on him that he needs more time and space before committing to another marriage.”
