Rosie O’Donnell ended her week as guest host of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ with a Donald Trump-focused performance.

Rosie O’Donnell spent just one week behind Jimmy Kimmel’s desk and still managed to pull the White House into the bit.
The comedian wrapped her guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a musical shot at President Donald Trump, closing a run that had already included jokes about his return to office, her move to Ireland and his decades-long fixation on her.
By Friday, the White House had answered.
“Rosie O’Donnell is a nasty woman and a total slob whose brain has been completely destroyed by Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a White House spokesperson said in a statement to multiple media outlets.
The First Night Set the Tone
Rosie O’Donnell opened her guest-hosting stint with jokes aimed at Donald Trump.
O’Donnell opened her week by making clear that Kimmel had chosen a guest host almost designed to irritate Trump.
“If you thought the president hated Jimmy Kimmel Live! when it was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel? Buckle up, people! Buckle up,” she said Monday, August 17.
She also explained her relocation overseas with a Trump jab.
“I’ve been living in Ireland for the past two years because of ‘Mango Mussolini,’” O’Donnell said. “I read that Project 2025 and said, ‘Gotta get myself out of here!’”
A Finale for ‘Donny Boy’
She used her final appearance to deliver a musical jab at the president.
O’Donnell saved her biggest Trump moment for the end of the week, performing a rewritten version of “Danny Boy” that she called “Donny Boy.”
“Poor Donny boy your polls, your polls are falling. Your reflecting pool is green as Mountain Dew,” she sang. “Your wig’s a mess, your ballroom is appalling, and with Iran you’ve bit off more than you can chew.”

Rosie O’Donnell defended Jimmy Kimmel’s fight for free speech.
She also thanked Kimmel “for reminding everyone that we have the right to free speech in this country, whether Orange Voldemort likes it or not.”
The White House Was Not Alone
The White House responded after Rosie O’Donnell’s week of jokes targeting Donald Trump.
The reaction was not limited to the official statement. Fox News host Sean Hannity told O’Donnell to “stay in Ireland.”
O’Donnell moved to Ireland after Trump’s reelection, and Trump later threatened to revoke her American citizenship.
She had told Variety before the guest-hosting run that she accepted partly because she supports Kimmel’s fight over political comedy and free speech.
“I support [Kimmel] in what he’s doing with the First Amendment, and our ability as entertainers and citizens to speak out against our government that’s enshrined in the Founding Fathers’ writings about our government,” O’Donnell said.
O’Donnell and Trump’s feud dates back to 2006, when she mocked him on The View. Nearly 20 years later, the White House is still responding by name.
