Crowe was previously married for 15 years before his divorce from Spencer was finalized in 2018. Around the time of his divorce, Crowe — who was auctioning off many of his prized possessions prior to the divorce being finalized that April — explained, "Divorce has its way of making you really examine the things that are essential in life — and the things that are not."

The Les Misérables actor has also previously been linked to Meg Ryan, whom he meet in 2000 while working on their film Proof of Life.
