'Mighty Ducks' Actor Shaun Weiss Graduates From Drug Court & Gets Burglary Case Thrown Out

Shaun Weiss is getting back on track.

The Mighty Ducks star has graduated from a court-ordered drug program.

The 43-year-old was ordered to enter the program in March 2020 after getting busted for residential burglary in Marysville, Calif.. He was arrested in January 2020 after he was reportedly found attempting to steal from a car in someone’s garage.

The D.A.'s Office in Yuba County, Calif., congratulated the actor for successfully completing the program, and he smiled for a picture with the judge presenting his certificate.

Weiss “demonstrated perseverance during his recovery complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic” the D.A.’s office reported. “He had to move treatment and transitional living programs on several occasions. He underwent dental reconstructive surgery, and had a close family member suffer a serious accident during his treatment.”

The D.A. also explained that “Shaun regained employment and has been traveling across the country making guest appearances and signing autographs. He received tremendous support from friends and fans of the character, Goldberg, he played in the 1992 hit The Mighty Ducks.”

Yuba County Court posted a series of photos on their Facebook page, including the photos of Weiss standing proud with his certificate.

In addition to graduating from the court’s drug program, Weiss’ burglary case was also thrown out for his commitment to his recovery.

In recent years, Weiss has struggled with a drug addiction. As OK! previously reported, Weiss “displayed symptoms of being under the influence of methamphetamine” at the time of his arrest in January 2020.

Weiss looked unrecognizable in his mugshot, but just eight months later, Weiss showed off a brand new set of teeth in a photo obtained by PEOPLE.
