Is A 'Sister, Sister' Reboot Happening? Tamera Mowry-Housley Tells All About Possibly Reuniting On Screen With Twin Tia Mowry-Hardrict
Holding onto hope! Tamera Mowry-Housley is not giving up on the possibility of a Sister, Sister reboot with her twin, Tia Mowry-Hardrict.
“I’m still in hopes of making it happen, it’s just I believe in the timing,” the actress told NBC LX host Natalie Lizarraga, adding: “It took years to get Sex and the City to do a reboot, it might take Sister, Sister a bit, but I’m a believer, I’m a believer in it.”
TIA MOWRY CLAIMS TEEN MAG WOULDN'T PUT HER AND SISTER TAMERA ON THE COVER 'BECAUSE WE'RE BLACK'
Sister, Sister aired for six seasons, from 1994-1999. The iconic sitcom starred Tia and Tamera as twin sisters, following the two who reunited 14 years after being separated at birth. The groundbreaking show featured a predominantly Black cast, including Jackée Harry as Tia's mother, Tim Reid as Tamera's father, and Marques Houston as their annoying neighbor, Roger.
Tia recently spoke about the possibility of a revival of the hit show, telling PEOPLE that the series was being held up by legal issues, adding that “what’s in the way is the rights” to the show. “We ended up moving forward with it and we didn’t have all the rights in place — I guess there were still some legalities that needed to come into place that put it on hold.”
On a recent episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Tia was a guest, and talk show diva Wendy Williams confused her for her twin sister. Appearing virtually, Williams admitted she still mixes up the sisters. She asked Tia about her time as a talk show host, which was a duty fulfilled by Tamera.

“Did you like being a talk show host?” Williams asked a confused Tia. The 42-year-old actress responded, calling out the host. “Did I like being a talk show host? Wait. How. That’s Tamera. I’m not a talk show host,” she said.
Tia added, “Wendy, you have known us for so long. You know Tamera is the one with the mole. I don’t have a mole.” Fans on social media were quick to slam Williams for the mishap.
“Wendy just tried tf out of Tia Mowry. ‘Did you like being a talk show host??’ Tia was like? What? Wendy? Thats not me. Lol #WendyWilliams,” one user tweeted, while another wrote: “NOT WENDY GETTING TIA AND TAMERA MIXED UP ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!!! I’M SCREAMING!!! 😭😭😭 #WendyWilliams.”
Tamera served as a co-host on The Real, alongside Jeannie Mai, Tamar Braxton, Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love and Amanda Seales, before announcing her departure from the show in July 2020.
