“With my American family!!!” Vergara wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “I cant believe its been 6 yrs since the Modern Family finale!!! I miss u guys!!!”
Sofía Vergara shared a sweet 'Modern Family' reunion with her former TV family.
The August 31 Instagram carousel showed Vergara dining with former TV husband Ed O’Neill, her on-screen stepchildren Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Modern Family executive producer Christopher Lloyd.
'Modern Family' Ended Six Years Ago
Sofía Vergara enjoyed a dinner reunion with Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Vergara played Gloria Pritchett, the spirited Colombian-American wife of Jay Pritchett, played by O’Neill.
Bowen portrayed Jay’s daughter Claire Dunphy, while Ferguson played Jay’s son Mitchell Pritchett, making the dinner a meaningful mini-reunion for fans.
“I miss Ed O’Neill so much,” Vergara told People in June. “I mean, I miss everyone, but … most of my scenes were always with Ed O’Neill.”

Sofía Vergara reflected on Ed O’Neill’s impact during her 'Modern Family' years.
Modern Family premiered on ABC in 2009 and wrapped in 2020 after 250 episodes. The series became one of TV’s most decorated modern comedies, earning 22 Emmy Awards, including five straight wins for Outstanding Comedy Series.
“So to have someone like Ed O’Neill guiding you and helping you through a show like Modern Family was a dream,” Vergara added. “I couldn’t have done it without him.”
Sofía Vergara Has Kept the Cast Close
Sofía Vergara previously brought the 'Modern Family' cast together for a star-studded reunion.
The new photo was not the first time Vergara has put together a reunion for her former colleagues.
In November 2023, she hosted a larger gathering that included Sarah Hyland, Eric Stonestreet, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, alongside O’Neill, Bowen and Ferguson.
“We miss u Ty!!” the Colombian actress wrote at the time after the group included a humorous stand-in photo of Ty Burrell, who was unable to attend the 2023 reunion.
Vergara Remains Busy on Television
Sofía Vergara shared a sweet moment with 'America’s Got Talent' fans during the live rounds.
Away from the reunion dinner, Vergara continues working as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. She joined the panel in 2020 and is appearing alongside Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Mel B during Season 21.
Vergara shared a post about meeting America’s Got Talent viewers, including children and a baby she held during the live rounds.
“The best part of this job! The audience!!!!!” she wrote in August, per Hola! Magazine.
