'The View' Cohosts Did Not Want To Work With Meghan McCain Anymore, Sources Say
Could Meghan McCain's The View cohosts be relieved to see her go?
Sources have said that the 36-year-old had become so difficult to work with that even a typically-relaxed Whoopi Goldberg could not stand her anymore.
"Everyone was at their wits’ end — even Whoopi, and she’s the chillest of them all. Whoopi is never going to advocate for anyone to get fired. She’s not about that, but she was very clear that she no longer wanted to work with Meghan," an insider spilled.
According to the insider, part-time cohost Ana Navarro "probably drank so many goddamn margaritas" to celebrate after McCain announced that she was wrapping up her time on The View last week.
Goldberg, Navarro and Joy Behar reportedly made it clear that they no longer wanted to work with McCain anymore. "It happened as soon as [new ABC News president] Kim [Godwin] came in. It was right after Joy and Meghan’s huge [on-air] blow up [in May] where the network called an emergency meeting. They told new management, 'We don’t want to work with her anymore,'" one source said.
"Whoopi was clear that she didn’t want to work with her either. There have been so many well-documented issues, and [Meghan] has not made a good impression on new management," the source added, saying that the hosts all complained to Godwin about McCain.
Meanwhile, McCain is said to be relieved herself, as she was reportedly "miserable" and wanted to leave "not long after she started."

McCain relocated from NYC to Washington DC amid the coronavirus pandemic while she was pregnant with her first child. (She and husband Ben Domenech welcomed daughter Liberty in September 2020.) Following her move, McCain has been "wanting to get out, especially since she now lives in the DC area with her family. She doesn’t want to come back to New York and be a part of that show."
However, ABC was reportedly sorry to see her go. "ABC begged for her to stay, [and] she said, 'No — I’m done! I’m not staying anymore.' ABC even offered a contributor role on ABC News, which she turned down," a source said.
"We’re surrounded by our family," McCain said when she announced her departure on Friday, July 1. "As any new mom knows, when I think of where Liberty wants to have her first steps and first words… I felt like I didn’t want to leave. On a professional note, this show is [has been one of the most] wonderful privileges of my entire life. This is definitely one of the top."
The talk show host also explained that the pandemic made her revaluate what she wants to do with her life.
McCain will stay on The View until the end of July. She joined the show in 2017 after she left Fox News and has been known to butt heads with her cohosts throughout her four seasons on the show.
Page Six was the first to report that McCain's cohosts allegedly did not want to work with her anymore.
