Thomas Markle Says That Meghan Markle 'Changed' After Meeting Prince Harry: 'She's Not The Daughter I Knew'
Thomas Markle has dubbed his estranged daughter Meghan Markle a liar in a new interview — and claimed she changed after meeting Prince Harry.
The 77-year-old appeared on GB News on Thursday, August 12, and was asked about Meghan and Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year. "She lied. She's been lying for years," he said.
"Lying about the archbishop? How can you say 'we've been married three days before we got married'?" Thomas said. "Her lies are so obvious, I don't know why she says them."
The 40-year-old told Winfrey that she and the Duke of Sussex got married three days before their royal wedding. "We called the archbishop and we just said, look, this thing, this spectacle, is for the world, but we want our union between us," Meghan said.
However, the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, told La Repubblica that their nuptials on May 19, 2018, in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle was the "legal wedding." "I signed the wedding certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a serious criminal offense if I signed it knowing it was false," he said.
In the GB News interview, Thomas said that his daughter has not always acted that way. "This is since Harry. Harry has influenced it," he said.
"Meghan and Harry are attacking the world. Attacking his 95-year-old grandmother [Queen Elizabeth II] is unforgivable," he added. "It's embarrassing they are doing this, it's embarrassing for them to be telling me a few years ago to 'never talk to the press', but then they spend hours on a show with Oprah."

The retired lighting director said that he has not heard from the royal couple since he dropped out of their wedding due to illness. "If your parent was in hospital, wouldn't you be concerned — even if you were mad at them?" he said. "Wouldn't you be concerned if they'd live or die?"
"She's changed, she's not the daughter I knew. My daughter was a much more giving, loving person than she is now," Thomas said on GB News. "I don't know if he's the one behind it, but I really think that Harry and some of her friends have changed her."
"I love my daughter, but I don't always like what they're doing," he added.
Thomas also said that he sent the Suits alum flowers for her 40th birthday but did not get a response. "I really didn't expect to hear back but I tried nonetheless," he said.
In the interview with Winfrey, Meghan and Harry said that there had been "conversations" had about the color of Archie's skin before he was born. Meghan also alleged that she was suicidal during her first pregnancy, but was denied help when she asked for it.
