Tiger Woods’ latest DUI arrest is pulling his high-profile relationship with Vanessa Trump into the spotlight.
Days after the Florida crash, Vanessa Trump posted photos of her daughter Kai at the Miami Open. The curated posts stood in contrast to reports of tension behind the scenes, as sources told the Daily Mail she was “not happy at all” and viewed the incident as “a definite red flag.”
A Carefully Managed Silence

Legal experts described silence as the safest early response.
Vanessa’s decision not to directly address the arrest publicly may be strategic.
“Saying ‘No comment’ is worse than not responding to the inquiry,” claims attorney Randall M. Kessler of Kessler & Solomiany, who is not associated with the case. “You have one shot to make your first comment. Save it as long as you can.”
That approach is especially critical in the early stages of a legal process, when even indirect statements can backfire.

The situation highlighted the vulnerability of celebrity relationships.
“Silence is often the safest approach because it avoids creating statements that can be misinterpreted or used later,” says Todd Spodek, managing partner at Spodek Law Group.
“In a fast-moving legal situation, a partner’s social media activity is never neutral,” Spodek said. “From a defense standpoint, the focus is minimizing exposure. Any public comment can be scrutinized, so the safest course is to coordinate with.”
The situation also highlights a broader vulnerability for celebrities: relationships can become exposure points.
“An ex partner is the breach in the NDA armor that celebrities don,” notes communications expert Quentin Langley, author of crisis management book Brandjack. “Security, administrative, and domestic staff will be covered by legally binding agreements. Friends and family are not.”

Family Concerns Behind the Scenes

Tiger Woods was reportedly barred from driving Vanessa Trump's children.
While Vanessa has remained publicly upbeat, the fallout appears to be more complicated when it comes to her children with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr.
A source told People Don Jr. “has been supportive of Tiger and Vanessa,” but added the situation “raised some concerns.”
Woods’ crash marked his fourth major car incident and second DUI arrest, and authorities said he appeared to be under the influence of medication at the time.
Woods had “bloodshot, glassy eyes” according to an arrest affidavit, and failed sobriety tests after his SUV struck a trailer and flipped. He later refused a urinalysis test.
The Secret Service had reportedly already barred Woods from driving Vanessa’s children prior to the crash, underscoring existing safety concerns.
Donald Trump Weighs In, and Stands By Tiger Woods

Donald Trump publicly defended Tiger Woods after the crash.
President Donald Trump, who has publicly supported the relationship, struck a sympathetic tone following the arrest.
“I feel so badly,” Trump told reporters on Friday, calling Woods “an amazing person” and “a very close friend.”
In a Tuesday interview with the New York Post, Trump said the golfer “lives a life of pain.”
“He is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments, you know, the back and the leg,” Trump told the outlet, referring to Woods’ more than two dozen surgeries over the years. “He doesn’t have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain.”
