Tim Curry's immediate family had all predeceased him by the time of his death.

In a statement, Curry's manager confirmed the actor died peacefully at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, on August 25. Law enforcement officers also told TMZ police responded to a call from the property around 11:23 p.m.

No foul play is suspected in Curry's death, but the news outlet reported he faced "serious health issues" in the years leading up to his passing.

Here's everything to know about the late actor's family.

Who Were Tim Curry's Parents?

Tim Curry died at his Los Angeles home on August 25.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show actor was born on April 19, 1946, to parents Jim and Pat Curry.

In an interview published following the release of his memoir Vagabond, Tim said he last saw Jim when he was 10, after his father suffered a stroke.

"And as they were about to take him into the ambulance, he said, 'Look after your mother,'" Tim recalled.

Weeks later, Jim contracted pneumonia while hospitalized and died at the age of 49.

"It was kind of oddly way too dramatic," Tim said. "I didn't know how to behave really, because I knew it was going to be incredibly formative."

Pat, a former school secretary, died from melanoma in 1999 at the age of 80. Tim also opened up about his mother's final years in Vagabond, saying she had always wanted to live to age 80.

"So of course she did make it to eighty — and that was her exact age when she died, due to melanoma. I tried to help take care of her whenever I could, but she did not want me to be her nurse, nor was I particularly eager to fill that role," he wrote in the book.

He acknowledged the two had a complicated relationship. In the memoir, Tim recalled receiving a phone call from his mother in which she told him, "I don't want to be here anymore." Although he was unsure exactly what she meant, he reportedly traveled immediately to be with her and visited as often as he could during her final months.

Tim Curry shared a close bond with his older sister.

Tim had one older sister, Judith "Judy" Curry.

In Vagabond, the Legend actor shared he and Judy "didn't speak about [their mother] all that much" after Pat's death.

"We understood each other's positions when it came to our mother," he wrote. "Whenever Judy and I were together, whether we were spreading Mum's ashes or driving through towns in Norfolk or whatever, our time was so special that the last thing either of us wanted to do was bring our family into it — either physically or through conversation."

Tim then reflected on the conversations he never had with Judy about their parents, admitting that discussing their mother might have been "very cathartic."

"I never properly asked her what it was like to be the apple of his eye and then to lose him [their father], and I wish I had. But at the time, neither of us needed or really wanted to revisit all of that hurt, and there were more interesting things to discuss," he continued.

Two years later, Tim faced another loss when Judy died of a brain tumor at the age of 60.

Describing her as "in many ways [his] only lifeline back to [himself] and [his] roots," the actor shared, "There is no way to articulate how it felt to lose my sister. I was shattered. I was untethered by the loss, and my brother-in-law and her children were devastated, as to be expected."

He admitted, "I still speak to my sis sometimes, though she died more than twenty years ago. It was very lucky that we ended up loving each other as much as we did, because for a while there — primarily when I was her rather eccentric kid brother, four years her junior— she thought I was a real buzzkill. And, as usual, she was not entirely wrong with that assessment."

"I long to laugh with her," Tim concluded. "I don't know whether time heals all wounds; it certainly hasn't healed this one. However much I resist looking back, I miss Judy all the time."

Was Tim Curry Ever Married?

Tim Curry wrote about his love life in his memoir.

Tim never married or had any children before his death, though his official website states he was "almost married" once.

"I don't talk about who I'm f------ or whether I'm in love. It's of paramount interest to me and very little interest to your readers. If it is of interest to them, then f--- 'em," he shared in an interview.

His comments echoed what he wrote in his 2025 memoir, in which he made clear he had no intention of revealing intimate details about his romantic life.

"I guarantee you, if it matters, that I have experienced true love, true heartbreak and everything in between, including no small amount of wreckage," he penned. "Which, naturally, helps inform who I am. I have loved and been loved and I hope you have, too. But I’m not interested in your romances."

The actor added, "And specifics about my affairs of the heart or the bedroom are — respectfully– none of your f------ business."

Tim is survived by his nephew and two nieces.
