Tristan Thompson's Coaches Decided 'It Would Be Best That He Didn't Play' Most Recent Basketball Game Due To 'Distracting' Baby Drama, Source Claims
Tristan Thompson's paternity drama is still raging on.
After the Sacramento Kings player confirmed he was the father of Maralee Nichol's son, Theo Thompson, it seems the scandal is impacting more than just his personal life.
According to a HollywoodLife insider, the 30-year-old's coaches were "well aware" of his "distracting" baby drama and decided to purposely bench him during the team's most recent NBA game on Tuesday, January 4.
The insider claimed Thompson's coaches felt "playing him in LA of all places would have been a bad idea," seemingly because the womanizer's ex Khloé Kardashian — whom the athlete cheated on when he conceived his most recent child — resides in the sunny state. The source noted his coaches didn't want the game to be taken over by the "distraction" that is Thompson's life.
The source also pointed out, per the outlet, that while the Sacramento Kings lost to the Lakers, "it was decided before the game that it would be best that he didn’t play, and they moved forward with that plan and expect it to be forgotten by the end of the week and everyone can move on at least when it pertains to on court NBA situations."

The Lakers won the game with a score of 122 – 114.
Meanwhile, Kris Jenner's boyfriend, Corey Gamble, appeared to show support for Thompson at the game. As previously reported by OK!, the momager's beau was spotted holding up Thompson's No. 13 jersey while leaving the event Tuesday night.
The baby mama saga began when Nichols sued Thompson over the summer for child support, which was news that came to light in December. The pair reportedly hooked up in March, while he was still believed to have been dating the reality star. Thompson shares their 3-year-old daughter True with Kardashian and 5-year-old son prince with ex Jordan Craig.
Thompson issued a public apology to the Good American cofounder on Monday, January 3, after a paternity confirmed he was the father of Nichols' son.
At the time, Thomspon wrote on his Instagram Story that he was taking full responsibility for his actions. "Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son," he insisted. "I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately."
"Khloé, you don't deserve this," Thompson, who has been unfaithful to Kardashian on more than one occasion, declared. "You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have cause you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years."
