'Vanderpump Rules' Star Katie Maloney Reminisces On Tom Schwartz Romance Following Divorce Filing
Katie Maloney is taking a trip down memory lane after her marriage to husband Tom Schwartz came crashing down.
During the Vanderpump Rules star's Sunday, April 10, appearance on "We Met At Acme" podcast, Maloney, 35, dished about the early days of her relationship with the TomTom owner, 39.
“We met in May or June of 2010 and we didn’t get into a relationship right away," the former waitress explained of how the fan favorite couple came to be. "We kind of kept it [casual] for a few months.”
“And then, yeah, I asked him to be my boyfriend. … Because I knew, I think, we both caught feelings. We both didn’t want a relationship, but we caught feelings," Maloney recalled of the start of their relationship. "So I felt like we had to establish some boundaries so the other one didn’t get hurt."
Maloney added: "And then we eventually moved in together. And then I gave him an ultimatum — the famous ultimatum — because I felt like he was always very commitment-phobic in ways."
The Bravo duo announced in March that after being together for 12 years, with the two sharing the highs and lows of their relationship on the hit series, they made the choice to end their marriage. However, this was not a decision the reality TV couple came to overnight.

“I really thought that we were gonna make it work. I felt that we had overcome a lot together, I felt that we had grown together,” Maloney heartbreakingly revealed. “And I thought that we would continue growing together, I was very optimistic."
"I thought, you know, patience is a virtue and that I had made mistakes, and he had made mistakes. I felt like I couldn’t condemn him for a lot of things because I was guilty, but maybe that was my own insecurity and me just not seeing things clearly," the Pucker and Pout writer continued.

Since Maloney and Schwartz still have assets to divide, they're currently living together in their $1.9 million Valley Village home, which they purchased in 2019.
“We own a home together. We’re going to sell our house, but we have some repairs that we’re doing. … We have to get it ready to sell,” she said before pointing out the two have been giving each other space. “We’re not sleeping in bed together. It’s working, it’s peaceful.”
Lisa Vanderpump's former employees have been together since the show's launch in 2013. During VPR's fifth season, the former flames got married in a romantic woodland ceremony in 2016. However, due to paper work issues, the two had to get remarried in a Las Vegas ceremony back in 2019, which was documented in Season 8.
