'The Wendy Williams Show' Boasts About Sherri Shepherd's Second Return As Guest Host While Wendy Williams Is Riddled With Jealousy While Watching From Home
The Wendy Williams Show is thrilled to have Sherri Shepherd back in the purple chair for a third time!
OK! reported The View alum first appeared as guest host of the beloved talk show on Monday, November 1, to Friday, November 5. After Shepherd had to delay her second hosting stint to get an emergency appendectomy, she returned to guest hosting duties, much to the delight of producers, on Tuesday, December 14, and finished up her stint on Friday, December 17.
It's clear Shepherd is a fan-favorite amongst the show runners, as the show announced the 30 Rock star's second return earlier this month.
Despite rumors that Wendy Williams has been left bothered by Shepherd's presence on her show, The Wendy Williams Show relished in her return once more on Instagram on Monday, December 20. Weeks after Executive Producer David Perler announced the January lineup of hosts, the show's Instagram account posted photos of the special guest hosts, along with the dates they will be filling in for Williams.
Shepherd will be closing out January's slate of guest hosts, starting Monday, January 24, through Friday, January 28.
Along with Shepherd, the talk show announced Fat Joe and Remy Ma, Michael Rapaport, as well as Kym Whitley and Finesse Mitchell will be filling in for Williams in the new year, as she continues to battle health related issues.

The former radio DJ, 57 — who is reportedly planning on returning to her show — has been out since the beginning of the season while she continues to heal from complications of her Graves disease. OK! reported Williams announced her break from the show in September due to "ongoing health issues," one of which included a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
As OK! previously reported, Williams has allegedly been a bit "jealous" of the show's succesful ratings while Shepherd was taking over her job.
"Sherri is the closest to Wendy that her fans are going to get, and she's funny," a source previously explained of why Williams' fans have taken so well to Shepherd. "Wendy can't stand watching people fill-in for her. She just can't, and especially someone like Sherri who is getting the love from her own audience."
According to the insider, the embattled media personality — who will not make her return until later in 2022 — "gets crazy jealous, and having to sit on the sidelines is eating her up — but there's no way around it."
"The show must continue and when Sherri's on, the numbers go up," the source candidly pointed out of the funny lady's hosting stints.
Meanwhile, Shepherd has been loving her time on Williams' chat show, with her admitting last week that filling in for the brunette beauty had been a "silent dream" of hers.
