The talk show host, 57, has been absent from The Wendy Williams Show since last season after facing multiple on going health issues — and she is allegedly not eager to return to the show anytime soon.

According to Page Six, Williams will not be coming back until at least February 2022 if at all.

“Even if she did come back, she’d be a lame duck because her show isn’t renewed beyond this season,” a source close to the chat show told the outlet.

On Wednesday, December 8, the show's official Instagram announced that they would be bringing back guest hosts Sherri Shepherd, Michael Rapaport, along with duos Fat Joe & Remy Ma and Kym Whitley & Finesse Mitchell to take over hosting duties in the new year.

“No-one expected ratings to go up 32% without Wendy. The fill-in hosts were just supposed to keep the shows lights on until Wendy was well enough to return," an insider told Radar. "It was assumed that without Wendy, the audience would not watch, but this has not been the case."

"In fact, when Sherri Shepherd took over she not only retained all of Wendy’s fans but also brought in a whole new audience too," the insider revealed. "This is why the search has changed from finding a temporary replacement to a full-time one."

Williams recently gave a health update after she was spotted leaving a Miami wellness center earlier this week where she insisted that she "is doing fabulous."
