The two fell in love on season 13 of The Bachelorette — Lindsay made her debut on Nick Viall's season 21 of The Bachelor — and she was quick to give Abasolo the first impression rose.
His good looks and charming personality quickly won over the reality star, 35. While the Bachelorette happily accepted Abasolo’s proposal during the final rose ceremony in August 2017, the Texas native felt the couple’s love was overshadowed by her split from runner-up, Peter Kraus, 35.
“The Bachelor franchise does believe in happy endings — some people get an on-camera happy ending, some people get an off-camera happy ending, and some people get both,” Lindsay recalled in a blog for Us Weekly. “As for my happy ending, it was not demonstrated within the confines of your television screens, but I am living it every day in real life.”
The couple got married on August 24, 2019, in Mexico, and are celebrating their one year anniversary.
With season 16 of The Bachelorette taking Bachelor Nation through a whirlwind of emotions before production even started, let’s look back at some of the successful bachelor franchise relationships who found love on the show and made it in the real world.
