The executor of Anthony's estate will be Ariane's mother and the chef's ex-wife, Ottavia Busia. While Anthony and Ottavia were married in 2007 and separated in 2016, their divorce wasn't finalized at the time of his death.

Shortly after splitting from Ottavia in 2016, Anthony began dating actress Asia Argento after they met while filming his CNN show Parts Unknown.  "Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did," she said after his sudden passing. "His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine."
