PHOTOS‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Stars Joe Amabile & Kendall Long Call It Quits After A Year Of Dating
Another bites the dust. Bachelor in Paradise stars Joe Amabile and Kendall Long announced that they have split in a joint statement released on Wednesday, January 29. The former couple had been dating a little over a year.
Joe, 33, and Kendall, 27, told BachelorNation.com, “We have decided mutually to go our separate ways. Joe has made the decision to move back to Chicago while Kendall will be remaining in her hometown of Los Angeles.”
The statement continued, “Our family and friends have always been an extremely important element to who we are as people. We can’t imagine continuing our lives without them closer, especially when thinking of starting a family of our own one day. We both respect each other’s decisions and still have a great deal of love for each other. We appreciate all the love and support everyone has given us throughout our relationship.”
The reality stars started dating during season 5 of BIP. Joe, who was nicknamed “Grocery Store Joe” because of his occupation at the time, became a fan favorite after Becca Kufrin sent him home on the first night of her season of The Bachelorette in 2018. Joe later went on to earn himself a spot in Mexico during the summer’s installment of BIP.
Soon after, the reality star fell head over heels for Kendall, who also appeared on Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelor.
Although Joe and Kendall didn’t leave the beach together, during a reunion episode, the two revealed that they had reconciled after filming and continued to date.
Joe went on to compete on Dancing with the Stars season 27, where Kendall was frequently spotted in the audience cheering on her boyfriend. During the following fall 2018 season, Kendall followed Joe on a nationwide tour. In April 2019, the pair announced that they had moved in together. “Just signed the lease to our new place in West Hollywood and couldn’t be more excited to start building a lil life together with this cutie,” Kendall wrote on Instagram on April 26.
Joe and Kendall entered the new year together with Joe sharing a sweet snap of Kendall giving him a kiss on the cheek with the caption, “Here’s to staying in on New Year's Eve 2020.”
