Caitlyn Jenner took New York City by storm during Gay Pride weekend and since she was so well-received, the 65-year-old is planning to move to the Big Apple full-time to reinvent herself!

“Caitlyn feels like such a free spirit there,” a friend told OK! Magazine. “As much as she loves Malibu, she senses the disapproving stares of people who still see her as Bruce, and she’s never been able to party or have fun there as the person she really is."

Her pal said she’s planning on getting “her own penthouse” in New York so she “can play hostess to the city’s movers and shakers.”

“She can’t wait to explore her new identity in a new city,” the friend added. “She sees herself spending more time in New York.”

“In New York, she gets to ditch her beachy maxi dresses and turn up the glam,” the source said. “She’s excited about hitting designer boutiques.”

Plus, a move across the country will really separate her from the Kardashian craziness, especially now that the Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick drama is getting messier by the minute.

“That was her former life,” the insider said. “If there’s drama to be had now, Caitlyn wants it on her own terms.”

However, her pal said she’s worried about putting that much distance between her kids, but knows the jet setters will frequently visit. “Of course she’ll miss the kids,” the insider said, “but they already feel like New York is their second home, and they’ll think nothing of jumping on a plane to come visit.”
