Caitlyn Jenner Is Legally A Woman! Judge Approves Official Name And Gender Change
Caitlyn Jenner is finally—legally—Caitlyn Jenner. A judge approved the I Am Cait star’s request to legally be declared a woman.
While Jenner, who filed for a legal name and gender change on Sept. 15, was not present for the ruling, Caitlyn’s lawyers were told on Sept. 25 that her change to a woman is official.
Jenner requested to have her legal name changed to “Caitlyn Marie Jenner” from “William Bruce Jenner” as well as be declared a female.

In court documents proposing the legal change, Jenner said that the public has been supportive of her transition to a woman, but requested the legal change because of "unwelcome negative attention from private citizens.”
While Caitlyn is officially Caitlyn now, not the entire family calls her by her new legal name. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Kris Jenner said she refers to her former spouse as “Jenner.”
