What awkward flight? Following the Much Music Video Awards on June 21, Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid were seated next to each other on a flight out of Canada. Although the singer posted a Snapchat of the former couple with the caption, “When u get seated next to ur ex on a plane,” a source exclusively revealed to OKMagazine.com that the couple purposely booked seats next to each other so they could reconcile!
“Those seats weren’t a coincidence,” a source told OKmagazine.com. “They both decided that they were going to go home together because it looked like they were going to get back together.”
But the flight didn’t go as planned, as the duo found themselves arguing the entire time! “He said her friendship with Joe Jonas made him uncomfortable,” the source said of the Jonas Brothers alum, who has been romantically linked to the model only weeks after Cody and Gigi’s May split. “He was really hurt by what she’s doing with Joe.”

Gigi even tried to convince the “Flower” singer to focus less on his career and more on her! “She said that he needed to concentrate on her and he was too busy spreading the word on his music,” the insider said. “He just didn’t agree with it so he said, ‘I don’t want to get back together with you right now. Not until you learn that my career is just as important as yours is.’”
Still on the outs with his ex-girlfriend, the insider revealed that the singer and Selena Gomez are “friends with benefits.” “He’s just trying to move on and have a little fun so he could be happy,” the source said.
