The couple said at first, they wanted to “just stay quiet” about what happened but ultimately changed their mind. “Since everyone is anticipating for us to announce that we're having a baby, we felt like it was time that we told everyone that our first and only baby is in heaven,” they wrote.
As Duggar fans know, it’s not uncommon for couples to become pregnant on their honeymoon — and Josiah and Lauren tied the knot on June 30, 2018.
The couple admitted it’s been “devastating” to deal with questions about when they’ll get pregnant. “It is hard to hear when people ask us if we are expecting, when we only recently lost our baby," they wrote.

“Our expectations of setting up a baby room, hearing the heart beat, feeling the baby's first kick in mommys tummy, holding our little one and getting to to see our precious baby were - Shattered. Gone. Right before our eyes,” they continued.
Josiah and Lauren said their one comfort is knowing "one day we will get to see our baby in Heaven."
The couple ended their post with a word of comfort to others who may be in their same position: “To the ones who have gone through this, I know your pain. It’s real and terrible. I just want you to know you don’t have to suffer in pain alone. It is not your fault.”
Lauren and Josiah’s miscarriage will unfold on this season of Counting On, which premieres February 11 at 9pm ET on TLC.
