Demi Lovato has a lot to be thankful for this year! The “Skyscraper” songstress hosted a Friendsgiving feast ahead of the holiday on November 24, and among her guests was her new boyfriend Austin Wilson. Demi, 27, was noticeably missing from the American Music Awards the same night, and opted for a cozy night in with the ones she loves.
During the gathering, Demi took to her Instagram Stories to thank chef Art Smith for the “best Thanksgiving food in the world.” She also shared pictures of the spread prepared for the evening, and a sweet image of Austin, 25, eating.
“Last night I had Friendsgiving with some amazing people," the singer wrote on her Story. "I love you all!!!" she added, and tagged her friends who joined in on the fun.
Austin and Demi made their relationship Instagram official on November 13, with coordinated mirror selfies that were both captioned, “My love.” Aside from sharing mirror selfies on social media, the couple also appears to have a lot in common.
“Austin and Demi share the same circle of friends and most of them are also in recovery,” a source told In Touch recently about their relationship. “It’s super important for her to surround herself with people who are healthy. But Demi feels really comfortable with Austin because he understands her struggle and her journey, so they can really talk about and bond over their shared experiences and their sobriety.”

In March 2019, Demi reflected on what would have been seven years sober. In July 2018, she was hospitalized for an overdose and completed rehab for substance abuse issues. “I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes but I must never forget that’s exactly what they were: mistakes,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
However, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer has been keeping busy. She returned to the studio earlier this month to work on some music for fans, and teased some new tracks on the way. Demi is also part of the NBC series Will & Grace in its final season, and debuted her “baby bump” on Instagram on November 20.
