Demi Lovato has a lot to be thankful for this year! The “Skyscraper” songstress hosted a Friendsgiving feast ahead of the holiday on November 24, and among her guests was her new boyfriend Austin Wilson. Demi, 27, was noticeably missing from the American Music Awards the same night, and opted for a cozy night in with the ones she loves.

“Austin and Demi share the same circle of friends and most of them are also in recovery,” a source told In Touch recently about their relationship. “It’s super important for her to surround herself with people who are healthy. But Demi feels really comfortable with Austin because he understands her struggle and her journey, so they can really talk about and bond over their shared experiences and their sobriety.”

In July 2018, she was hospitalized for an overdose and completed rehab for substance abuse issues. “I don’t regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes but I must never forget that’s exactly what they were: mistakes,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

However, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer has been keeping busy. She returned to the studio earlier this month to work on some music for fans, and teased some new tracks on the way. Demi is also part of the NBC series Will & Grace in its final season, and debuted her “baby bump” on Instagram on November 20.
