If you’re Derick Dillard, just about anything counts as a date night! The former Counting On star took his wife Jill Duggar to an unexpected spot for some romance — and he even brought their kids along to join in the fun.
Derick showed off his latest date night pic on Instagram. “Going on a date to Sam’s can definitely work!” he captioned this pic of his two sons sitting in a Sam’s Club carriage.
Why does Sam’s Club count as a date night? Because, Derick explained, “There’s food and even entertainment for the little ones!” He added the hashtags, “#datetime #babysitterincluded #brothers #bestbuds.”
Some fans couldn’t believe Derick deemed this a “date night.” “It's a family trip when kids are involved, NOT a date,” one fan wrote. Plus, Derick recently revealed Jill’s list of date night demands—and “no kids” was one of the rules!

Yet Derick still considered their family trip to Sam’s a date night. It could be because the family is trying to save some cash while Derick attends law school, and everyone knows Sam’s give out the best free samples!
This isn’t the first time the couple has had to get creative for date nights. Jill has joined Derick in his law school classes on not one but two occasions for some “alone time.”
