Pop legend Elton John played double duty at Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s wedding on Saturday, where he was not only an invited guest to the ceremony but he also performed shortly after at their reception!
Meghan and Harry got married at St. George’s Chapel inside Windsor Castle on Saturday afternoon.
Elton and his partner David Furnish were seen chatting it up with David & Victoria Beckham earlier on in the day prior to the wedding beginning.
After Meghan & Harry’s nuptials, the newlyweds and their guests attended a luncheon at St. George’s Hall inside Windsor Castle that was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II herself.
Kensington Palace did confirm that the “Bennie and the Jets” icon did perform for Meghan, Harry and all of the six hundred guests that attended the wedding earlier on in the day.
Harry asked Elton to perform at the reception, given that he has such a personal connection to the family due to his relationship with his mother, Princess Diana. He performed a rendition of his song “Candle in the Wind” at her funeral back in 1997.
