Is Anna Duggar turning into her mother-in-law Michelle? After the mom of five posted a video in which she called her son Mason her daughter Meredith’s “buddy,” fans assumed that meant Anna was implementing her mother-in-law’s infamous Duggar “buddy system” with her kids — and they weren’t happy!
Anna shared this cute video of her son Mason attempting to walk with the help of his big sister Meredith. “Meredith is determined and eager to teach her little buddy Mason how to walk! Mommy & Daddy are thrilled too! #bestfriends #littleduggars #11months,” she captioned the video.
Fans were quick to take issue with Anna’s use of the word “buddy,” fearing it meant she’d already enlisted Meredith to help raise her younger sibling. “Sad that they already have her responsible for her baby brother,” one fan commented. “Why can’t you just say brother or ‘baby brother’ or anything better than ‘buddy,’” said another.
As 19 Kids & Counting fans know, most of the older Duggar girls were assigned another younger sibling to help out with while growing up, aka their “buddy.” According to InTouch, Joy-Anna once admitted Jill had “always taken care of me,” and Joy-Anna, as the middle child, went on to be the buddy to her younger siblings.
However, Anna’s followers want her to end the buddy cycle! “Please break from the buddy system,” one follower wrote. “Your husband and in-laws have proven they only follow satan. Don’t lead your children down that road.”

“I’m not surprised that Anna would use the buddy system, I don’t understand why anyone else would be. She’s a Gothardite and has drank the koolaid,” another fan added.
Unfortunately for Anna, she’s no stranger to criticism on social media. She even took a two-year hiatus from Instagram after her husband Josh’s cheating scandal, but she returned again in February 2018.
