Jeannie Mai’s life has been a whirlwind over the last 24 hours. Her show The Real just won a Daytime Emmy on Sunday night, and that same day her ex husband Freddy Harteis, with whom she just broke up in October, announced that he was expecting his first child with “a beautiful woman who captured my heart.” Read on to find out how the talk show host has been handling it all!
After having taken the stage to receive the coveted award Sunday night, fans were worried about the celebratory moment being ruined by the fact that her very recent ex is becoming a father so soon after their divorce. Coincidentally, they split because they couldn’t agree about having children (she doesn’t want any).
But she seemed to be keeping it together! It fact, she was on such a high from the award ceremony that she didn’t even stop to fix her fake eyelash, which had completely fallen off!
She might have been able to focus, but Tamara Mowry, to whom she was talking to at first, couldn’t even stifle her laugh. “Your eyelash, man,” the chuckled.

That didn’t stop Jeannie, though. She went right along with her speech, staring straight at the camera—with her eyelash dangling off her face at this point—and said, “We did not know we were going to win. We said if we won the Emmy, we would not wash our makeup. We would not shower. We let Tam brush her teeth. We said we could come back here just like this because we want to savor the moment with you.” Talk about unbothered!
Prior to the taping, Jeannie took to her Instagram to share a pic of herself with the Emmy award and writing in the caption that she refused to let anything steal her joy. “In Biggie voice ‘it was all a Dream!!’ but not today Satan last night was REAL!!! I'm legit in sweaty tears and lashes.” Clearly!
